Each quarter, CHIEF team members nominate their peers for an agency-wide recognition—a chance to give kudos to those who go “above and beyond” and embody our agency values of passion, boldness and empowerment. This quarter, in between bites of CHIEF-catered Peruvian chicken, the entire team took the time to recognize Shannon Durkin for her outstanding work and can-do attitude. Not only is Shannon a dedicated project manager and devoted team player, she was also game to answer some of our quirky questions for this fun Q&A.
Describe what you do at CHIEF in 3 words or less.
SD: Collaborate with people.
What do you love about your job?
SD: Getting to work with so many great people. Everyone has their different passions and areas of expertise, so it's great to get to work together to collaborate and make something awesome.
How did you discover your passion for project management?
SD: It's been a learning experience, as technology wasn’t always a passion for me. My role is always changing, and I like that about it. I learn something different every day.
Do your design skills/preferences trickle into other aspects of your life, besides work?
SD: I could use a few more project management skills in my every day life ;)
How do you get inspired?
SD: By constantly learning from the people I work with. When they're excited, I'm excited.
Before working at CHIEF, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
SD: I could tell you, but you’d have to sign a waiver…
What is something few people know about you?
SD: Tough one...I like to golf? I played the piano for 15 years?
