Position Details

CHIEF is looking for a self-directed marketing manager with an eye for big picture strategy and a knack for translating client visions into creative and actionable strategies. As a part of a dedicated team, you will be responsible for motivating and leading the client-focused marketing team. Our ideal candidate excels at building relationships, has experience managing teams, and loves working in a highly collaborative environment. You are equal parts organized and innovative. You have sound vision and proven expertise around how to bring vision, skill and energy to drive thoughtfully integrated outreach campaigns that further client objectives. Selected candidates will interview with CHIEF’s client Program Manager/Associate Director.

What You'll Do

  • Work closely with client and partner stakeholders; provide big picture marketing strategy oversight and coordinate supporting program communication or marketing campaign activities
  • Develop and manage integrated programs including digital and social media strategy, email marketing campaigns, content strategy, and lead generation approach
  • Coordinate activities among marketing staff responsible for email marketing, social and traditional media activities
  • Recommend digital or traditional media tactics, digital advertising, web features or user experience approaches that support client objectives
  • Establish key performance indicators and measurements to assess the effectiveness of marketing, communication and SEO strategies
  • Identify and analyze customer needs, audience preferences and satisfaction; analyze and synthesize intelligence into research finding briefs, reports or presentations.
  • Oversee writing, editing, and creation of other marketing collateral for web, print, social media, and other channels, keeping in mind best practices including plain language, accessibility, and SEO/SEM
  • Partner with UX, technology, and creative teams to design smart solutions
  • Keep a pulse on emerging digital trends and use these insights to build team capabilities and drive impactful campaigns

What It Takes

  • 6-8 years demonstrated experience in marketing and strategic communications
  • Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills, and proven ability to work with stakeholders, senior management and technical teams
  • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience managing end to end marketing from analysis and planning through execution
  • Strong project management skills and organizational skills; excellent documentation and the ability to articulate process improvements and required changes
  • Expertise marketing complex initiatives and content (e.g. data, grants) strongly desired
  • Demonstrated experience with social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.), email and marketing automation (e.g. Salesforce, GovDelivery, MailChimp), and other digital marketing platforms, analytics and advertising best practices
  • Prefer experience with analytics and planning tools including Google Analytics, AdWords, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console and others
  • Must hold Bachelor’s Degree and be a U.S. Citizen
