Now that CHIEF’s Business Development team is back from having beignets on Bourbon Street, we are excited to share some insights from the 2017 APMP Bid & Proposal Conference, which took place last week in New Orleans, LA. With 920 industry attendees from 22 countries around the world, our team was all in at this year’s conference.
We presented at two sessions, sharing best practices for submitting rapid responses to RFPs and using industry insights focused on ideas, emotions and storytelling to connect with prospective clients at pitches and presentations. For a fun change of pace, we also gave an energetic and engaging Ignite talk focused on the similarities of job hunting and dating.
For CHIEF, our focus was on bringing a different perspective to APMP, looking at commercial and government contracting from beyond the beltway, and providing attendees with a glimpse into the world of proposals, pitches and business development from an agency point of view.
Chief Operating Officer and Co-Presenter, Dave Rinaldo, shared his take on attending, “It was exciting to represent CHIEF at this international event, share our stories and showcase some of the incredible work that we do for both our commercial and government clients. More importantly, it was about engaging with peers and colleagues to help them apply some of our approaches to their own proposal and business development efforts.”
After a knowledge-building conference sharing best practices with fellow practitioners, CHIEF’s team brought back great ideas on how to improve content development, knowledge management and storytelling in our proposals and prospective engagements moving forward. CHIEF’s conference presenters practice what we preach, and that is to BE BRAVE!
