Lauren Cox

I enjoy working with a client that is excited about reimagining their marketing strategy. This gives me the opportunity to bring them my craftiest ideas, to work with other CHIEF team members to create those ideas, and to develop the overarching strategy that brings those ideas to life.‬‬‬

With passion and skill in commensurate proportions, Lauren is a nimble marketing communications strategist with a focus in non-profit fundraising, customer support and digital communications. She has lent her expertise to a range of commercial, non-profit and government clients, and her technical savvy combined with her innovative use of social media make her an exceptionally forward-thinking and valued member of the CHIEF team.

Lauren earned her BA in Urban Planning, as well as a certificate in Latin American Studies, from the University of Pittsburgh. She also holds an MA in Public Relations and Digital Communications from Georgetown University.

Noteworthy Story or Next Adventure

I was on the ticket line at the train station in Poland, and I was very late for a train to the Czech Republic. I knew the words for train and ticket, but I couldn’t figure out how to tell the saleswoman that I needed sleeper seats, not upright seats. After several failed attempts, I took to my very bad drawing skills and sketched a picture of someone sleeping in a bed (z’s and all). She laughed, sold me the correct tickets, and sent me on my way, just in time.

The Little Prince. It's a good reminder to try to always see the boa constrictor eating an elephant (and not a hat).

DC Go-to's

Boundary Stone: it has the ambiance and friendliness of a neighborhood bar, as well as delicious wings and a fun social media presence. And if I wanted to, I could strategically cartwheel all the way there from my apartment.
